The diagonal of a cube; Ratio 1/ Ö3

The diagonal (a rod in this construction) between two opposite vertices

of a cube is the edge (E) multiplied by Ö3.

Calculation: The diagonal is the hypotenuse (H);  the edge of the cube

(E) and the diagonal of the square (E Ö2) are the small edges (katets) of a right-

angled triangle. According to Pythagoras´ theorem H = E Ö3
