A portative organ...
...made in 2001 by Andreas Brauner. It is not a reconstruction of a specific instrument but rather a "generic portative" based on 14th and 15th century iconography. The range is G - f with four chromatic notes: C#, F#, Bb and c#. Tuning: Pythagorean temperament with A=440 at 18°C. It uses push-buttons rather than keys (which implies an earlier, 14th century instrument before keys became standard), the first seven of which can be locked to provide one or more drones.
