A portative organ...

...made in 2001 by Andreas Brauner. It is not a reconstruction of a specific instrument but rather a "generic portative" based on 14th and 15th century iconography. The range is G - f with four chromatic notes: C#, F#, Bb and c#. Tuning: Pythagorean temperament with A=440 at 18°C. It uses push-buttons rather than keys (which implies an earlier, 14th century instrument before keys became standard), the first seven of which can be locked to provide one or more drones. The pipes are made of a tin alloy. Andreas works in Sweden and Germany and can be reached on andreasbr@iname.com, or if it's urgent (he isn't able to check his mail too often) through Erik Ask-Upmark
