Born
in Singapore in the early fifties, art was presented to me natually
through my parents collection of Chinese art. A Kodak Brownie camera
was my first experience with still photography in the mid-fifties.
The early influence in visual art was an important factor in my
choice to become a professional photographer.
During a visit to Sweden in the early seventies, I decided to settle
in this beautiful nordic land. I had my former education in both
cinematographic and still photography in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.
The
first years were spent working as an assistant cinematographer with
advertising companies before moving on to the Swedish Film Institute
as a production technician for the country`s feature film industry.
After
fourteen years at this institution, it was time to move on and started
in 1992, my own company "Images of light".
Almost
a decade as an independent images maker, my assignments have brought
me to several countries in the far east and south east asia. for
international companies and represented by a picture agency, International
Magazine Service ( IMS ) in Sweden. On the home front, amonst others,
my clients have been The Swedish National Heritage Board and National
Property Board whose responsibilities for all historical buildings
and sites in this country where I have contributed photographic
documention throughout the country.
These
pictures on this site are taken with a Linhof 6 x 17 cm Panorama
camera and I feel as comfortable working with other medium formet
from 6 x 4,5 cm to the 8" x 10" (approv. 18 x 24 cm).
Beside my work, I find it relaxing to paint in oil, listen to classical
music and play Bach`s cello suite with the flute. A second exhibition
with both photography and painting will be held shortly.
Thank you for showing your interest and I hope you have enjoyed
browsing through. Thank you.
Best
wishes, Peter T.F.Han
