Together with Dame Ninette de Valois, one
of the two pioneers of British
ballet.
Dame Marie was born in Warsaw 1888 and
died in London 1982.
She had danced with Diaghilev's company and
been partnered by Nijinski. She had also
studied with Cecchetti.
In 1920 she opened a school in London and
subsequently founded the Ballet Rambert.
