2 "Värmlänningarna" (old spelling Vermländingarne) popular Swedish play about rural life in the province of Värmland, bordering on Norway in the southwest of Sweden. Premiere 27th March 1846. Still performed occasionally.

21 Gabrie, Telemaque. Born in Paris, premier dancer 8 Nov. 1815 - 1 June, 1818. Made his debut in the ballet "Alceste" 18 Dec. 1815. "Young, well proportioned, with a particularly beautiful countenance; danced with great skill and aplomb, had much strength, and astonished with his dazzling pirouettes".

37 D'Auberval, real name Jean Bercher. B. Montpellier 19 Aug. 1742, d. in Tours 14 Feb. 1806. Ballet Master Paris Opera.

39 Armfelt, Gustaf Maurits, b. in Finland 1 April 1757, d. Tsarskoe-Zelo, nr. St. Petersburg 19 August 1814. Nobleman, Theatre Director 1 July 1786 - 1 April 1792. Started his professional career in the military field, became a member of the Swedish Academy in 1786. Diplomat in Italy. Condemned to death and lost his "honour and chattels" for political intrigues against Duke Carl. Fled to Kaluga in Russia, where he spent some time as plain Mr. Brandt. His titles were restored to him by King Gustavus Adolphus IV in 1799, when he became a diplomat in Vienna 1802-1804, discharged from his duties because of new intrigues in 1810, made a Russian subject the same year, Governor-General of Finland 1813. Armfelt himself gave his views on how to treat staff: "Ce n'est qu'avec la plus sévère discipline qu'on fait marcher cette canaille, et au début de cette république j'ai donné en plein théâtre des coups de canne à De Broen et des soufflets à Ahlgren, et j'etais si déterminé alors à soutenir ce régime, que je leur aurais coupé les oreilles, si ces messieurs se seraient avisés de parler de leur droits. Aussi jouait-on et obéissait-on d'une manière parfaite. - Ma correspondence avec Gustave III prouve les plaintes qui ont été faites contre moi, sa doceur et sa bonté et ma manière toute militaire pour l'exécution, quoique les entre-actes fussent consacrés a mille folies, ou j'étais le bon et fidèle compagnon des orgies et plaisirs de cette très-mauvaise société dramatique".

52 Carey, Andre Isidore, born in Paris, pupil of Auguste Vestris. Made his debut in "La fille mal gardee" 21 Dec. 1815. Premier dancer 1815-1823, then balletmaster. After leaving Sweden, he went to Vienna.

53 Daguin Sophie Marguerite, b Paris 26th March 1801. her father was a librarian at the Paris Opera. At the age of eight she was first taught by Didelot. d 1881.

55 Johansson, Pehr Christian, Swedish dancer and balletmaster. B. in Stockholm 1 June 1817 (Not 20 May 1817). Pupil 1 July 1829. 27 Jan. 1841 contracted as premier dancer at the Imperial Theatre in St. Petersburg. Then teacher at same theatre. Died in St. Petersburg 12 December 1903 at 7 AM. The cause of death was a cerebral haemorrhage and he was buried 14 December at Smolensky Cemetery.

56 Wallqvist, Per Erik, Swedish dancer, b. 7 Sept. 1797, pupil at Opera School 1 Oct. 1812. D. 16 Feb. 1855.

57 Bournonville,  August, b in Copenhagen 21 Aug. 1805 studied in Paris 1824-1829 vith Auguste Vestris, became first solodancer and Director of dance at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen 1829. Balletmaster 1830, resigned 25 Nov. 1849, but was in charge of the ballet until Oct. 1861. Stage Manager at Royal Operahouse, Stockholm 1st Oct. 1861-1 July 1864. Died 30 Nov. 1879.

77 Berwald, Franz, Adolf, Swedish musician and composer. Born Stockholm 1796 - 1868. Though essentially a musician B. also had many other occupations. When B. did not have any success he turned to other means of earning a living. I.e. for six years he was a manager of an orthopedic institute in Berlin. For another period of eight years he was manager of a glassworks in the north of Sweden. Has composed symphonies and chamber music, much influenced by Berlioz and Liszt.
