How to remove region coding in Hitachi DV-W1E
1. Download the files and the drawings (954Kb, zip file). File contains:

1fls_img.bin
drw1.tif
drw2.tif
2. Create a CD-R in a computer CD-R recorder, format MODE 1 with CD volume name HITACHI_DVD_PLAYER in capital letter.
3. Copy the files
0fls_wrt.bin
1fls_img.bin
to the CD.
4. Delete resistor R2627 on DEC PWB BOARD.
Connect wire on DEC PWB BOARD (see drw1.tif and drw2.tif).
5. Plug in AC cord.
6. Press the POWER key on the DVD Player.
7. Press the OPEN key to open the tray.
8. Put the CD-R on the tray.
9. Press the CLOSE key to close the tray.
10. Wait about 30 seconds. Then "NO PLAYER" appears on the display.
11. Push both REW button and POWER button for a few seconds until the version appears on the display.
12. Push both PLAY button and POWER button for a few seconds. Then wait for about a minute.
13. The tray will be opened automatically. Then take away the CD-R.
14. Pull the AC power cord out from the power socket and put it in again.
15. Push the POWER button. Close the tray.
Now the region coding is removed.
